The sakê bomb is a beer (cider for us!) cocktail made by pouring sake into a shot glass and dropping it into a glass of beer. Sakê bombs are popular in sushi bars and restaurants all across America but we decided to bring it to the brewhouse and spin an original into our own!
Sakê is a Japanese fermented rice wine with various taste notes from fruity to floral. At Trinity Cider we ensure you know the full history and experience exactly how a sakê bomb is meant to be drank!
At Trinity Cider we use Gekkeikan sakê. This particular sakê is herbaceous with taste notes of grapefruit. A balanced sakê with mellow tones of earthiness with a medium finish. The perfect shot!
Our team at Trinity Cider has always loved a good sakê bomb, so we thought we'd bring the tradition into our taproom. Instead of beer, we drop our saké into hard apple cider - using chopsticks and all!
Or, "One, Two, Three...Cheers!" Our saké bombs also come with a little lesson in Japanese. When you hear, "Kanpai," It's time to hit the table and down that bomb!
You haven't had the full Trinity Cider experience until you've done a saké bomb with us. Next time you stop in, ask your bartender about our bombs.
The more the merrier! Kanpai!
